Brussels Sprouts Ground Turkey Skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon sal t
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until fully browned, breaking the meat into small crumbles with a spatula.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Incorporate the sliced Brussels sprouts into the skillet, stirring to combine with the turkey and aromatics.
  6. Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and develop golden-brown edges.
  7. Pour in the soy sauce and red pepper flakes, stirring for 1 minute to deglaze the pan and coat the ingredients.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
