Sautéed Green Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Blanch the green beans for 3 to 4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
  3. Transfer the beans to an ice water bath immediately, then drain and pat thoroughly dry.
  4. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  6. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter.
  7. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until the beans are heated through and beginning to blister slightly.
  8. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice before serving.
